Roddy Doyle, geb. 1958 in Dublin, ist einer der bekanntesten Vertreter der neueren irischen Literatur. Er lebt mit seiner Frau und drei Kindern in Dublin. Patricia McCormick ist freie Journalistin. Sie studierte kreatives Schreiben an der New School und rezensiert Jugendbücher und Familienfilme für die New York Times und die Zeitschrift "Parents". Die Autorin lebt in New York. 2009 erhielt sie den Gustav-Heinemann Friedenspreis.
