Inklusion, Exklusion und (Un-)Sicherheiten im öffentlichen Raum

This research report examines public space as a critical dimension of social justice and participation, focusing on the area around Reumannplatz in Vienna. It compares the perspectives of young users and professionals working in public spaces, such as those in social work, youth work, administration, and community services. Conducted as part of the Horizon 2020 project D.Rad (20202024), the study emphasizes spatial processes of social polarization in urban contexts. Public space is analyzed as a site where belonging, participation, and exclusion are negotiated, especially as it becomes a contested resource. The research combines expert interviews and interactive workshops with professionals and young people, amplifying youth voices often overlooked in discussions about urban security and public space.
